Symtom

When connecting from a Solaris system to another Solaris system you see the invalid UTF-8 sequence error,

ssh bhitch@krypton.com
invalid UTF-8 sequence: Cannot convert UTF-8 strings to the local codeset
invalid UTF-8 sequence: Cannot convert UTF-8 strings to the local codeset
invalid UTF-8 sequence: Cannot convert UTF-8 strings to the local codeset
invalid UTF-8 sequence: Cannot convert UTF-8 strings to the local codeset

The server (sshd) will log the error message to /var/log/syslog as shown,

Aug 17 16:58:42 hostname sshd[4629]: [ID 800047 auth.error] error: Can't convert to UTF-8: Cannot convert the local codeset strings to UTF-8

Fix

Install package SUNWuiu8

Dickson, obviously our discussion showed a different fix so I'll wait for your notes.
