Based on my home server work, I might need a name server entry, but I am not convinced I do based on my readings. I understand resolv.conf is supposed to be the source for the name serve entrie and even the static ip entry will use it.entries are required for static entries. But in this this case, it is a second entry and resolv.conf has the name servers listed from the first dhcp assigned network card. Will test how this pans out without name server first then update here if needed.
